Our Fellowship Program leverages the strengths of our existing specialists and expert mentors to ensure our Fellows receive access to diverse case exposure and a strong breadth of diagnostic and interventional opportunities.

The Fellowship encompasses all aspects of Musculoskeletal Imaging, with a particular emphasis on MRI, Ultrasound and Intervention including Bursal injections, Arthrography, PRP, Prolotherapy and Radiofrequency Ablation.

Our Fellowship Program leverages the strengths of our existing specialists and expert mentors to ensure our Fellows receive access to diverse case exposure and a strong breadth of diagnostic and interventional opportunities.

Our facilities have MRI Medicare eligibility and operate 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners. Our facilities operate a busy diagnostic and therapeutic (ultrasound guided injections) MSK service with highly experienced sub-specialist Radiologists.

Coolum Radiology is located central on the Sunshine Coast and has access to a comprehensive range of imaging services including MRI, CT, PET, SPECT-CT, Ultrasound, Breast Imaging, BMD, Dental Imaging and X-ray. We also offer a broad range of interventional services including Radiofrequency Ablation.

We are an independent, non-corporate group with four practices located at Noosa, Cooroy, Coolum & Gympie. The day to day direction of the business comes from Radiologist owners and our purpose is to provide a high quality comprehensive radiology service using state of the art equipment to patients in our region.

Our main practice, Noosa Radiology is located in Noosa’s largest Medical Precinct where you will be collaborating with a wide range of specialists from orthopaedic specialists to oncologists and general practitioners on a daily basis. The practice also services the Noosa Hospital which is 100 metres away from the Noosaville Professional and Medical Centre.

Not only will you be working and collaborating with colleagues from other specialities, but you will also have attractive work conditions in a friendly, supportive team of sub-specialist trained radiologists.

Radiographer Graduate Trainee Pathway

Our Graduate Radiographer positions offer a great opportunity for professional development across our comprehensive radiology practices, while working alongside recognised leaders in medical imaging. Get exposure to advanced modalities and procedures in our modern practice with latest in radiological equipment, techniques and dose reduction technology.

Our intake opens for applications August – October each year.

  • As part of our Graduate Program, you’ll work with the latest in radiological equipment, techniques and dose reduction technology and enjoy continuous learning opportunities.
  • You’ll learn directly from highly-experienced industry professionals, ready to mentor and support you.
  • Gain valuable experience working with patients in community settings as you rotate around our practices.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to work in our locations at Gympie, Cooroy, Coolum & Noosa.

Sonographer Graduate Trainee Pathway

Live and work in Coolum on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast​

Our Trainee Sonography program offers students full-time paid employment, whilst undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound through QUT. The traineeship runs for 2 years, and if you are successful in passing your University program you will graduate as a fully Qualified Sonographer. Get exposure to advanced modalities and procedures in our modern practice with latest in equipment, techniques and technology.

  • Full-time paid employment while undertaking studies and completing required supervised clinical experience​.
  • Complete a Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound via QUT, Monash, Charles Sturt or other university​.
  • 2-year traineeship duration being trained by highly skilled experienced Sonographers​.
  • Graduate as a fully Qualified Sonographer upon successful completion of the University program​.
  • Regional candidates may be eligible for university fee reimbursement after 3 years of service post-qualification.

Applicants must:​

  • have a recognised bachelor degree in a relevant allied health field (e.g. Medical Imaging, Nursing, Biomedical Science)​.
  • be enrolled in (or eligible to enrol in) a Graduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasound​.
  • be able to commit to living in the region for at least 5+ years​.

  • A copy of relevant transcripts (from your Bachelor’s degree and/or any other related study).

You will need to:

  • Pass all university and our assessment to maintain employment and position in the Trainee Sonographer program.
  • Maintain enrollment in a University course.
  • Return 3 years of full-time service as a qualified Sonographer post-qualification in return for the 2-year paid Trainee Sonographer program.

Withdrawal and Termination

Withdrawal by recipient: Trainee Sonographers who withdraw from the program may be required to repay some or all of the costs associated with the Traineeship.

Termination of employment by MAC Imaging: MAC Imaging P/L may terminate a Trainee Sonographer agreement if a recipient does not satisfactorily meet the University and our assessment criteria.
