What is PET/CT Scan?

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a nuclear medicine imaging technique that allows physicians to assess various physiological processes and metabolic activities in the body. PET scans are used to diagnose a variety of diseases, including many types of cancers, heart disease and brain disorders. It is commonly used in conjunction with computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to provide detailed anatomical and functional information.
